履歷表是你與雇主接觸的第一道窗口，如何讓對方第一眼看到履歷表，就認定你會是他所需要的人，是非常重要的。不妨參考美國最大求職網站Monster.com歸納的7大原則：
其實寫英文履歷表一點都不難，它並沒有什麼特殊的要求或格式，只要掌握關鍵的原則，多參考相關範本，一樣可以寫出一份出色的英文履歷表。


1.頁數不超過兩頁。
履歷表不是自傳，愈簡短愈好，只要把和應徵工作相關的資料或是經歷寫出來就可以。企業主每天收到上  的履歷表，其實沒有多少時間看你長篇大論的介紹自己。如果對方希望深入的了解你，會等到面試的時候再問。履歷表只要列出相關的重點就好，盡量幫對方節省時間。
2.不要一表多用。
儘管你應徵的是相同領域的工作（例如行銷或是業務），但是不同的公司，對工作有不同的要求。事先了解每家公司的企業文化，對工作有哪些特別的要求，需要什麼樣的人才，再根據這些資訊決定刪減或是增加哪些內容，而不是把你所有過去的經歷全部寫出來，直接印10份寄給10家不同的公司。
3.避免重複的資訊。
如果每次兼職或是實習工作的職務非常類似，例如你在不同公司同樣是擔任店員的工作。寫履歷時就要再額外說明工作的成就，例如獲選為當月最佳店員。否則應徵的人看到的是重複的資訊，沒有什麼特別的。
4.刪除不相關的訊息。
像是個人的嗜好興趣、生日、或是婚姻狀況等，這些都是和工作無關的資訊，不需要註明，不要因此浪費了履歷表的寶貴空間。
5.日期不可少。
包括學歷背景、工作經歷、課外活 項目等，一定要註明日期，以增加可信度。
6. 詞開頭，不要造句。
你不是在寫文章，不需要精心造句。直接以 詞作為開頭，例如：“Assisted in...”、“Processed orders...”（請參考範本）。句子也要盡量簡短，讓人一眼看到就明白你在做些什麼。
7.再多的檢查也不嫌煩。
千萬不可以出現拼錯字或是打錯字的情況。寄出履歷表之前，一定要一再的檢查確認，或是給其他人看過一次。即使只是小小的錯誤，但是卻會讓企業主認為是不專業的表現。


履歷表就是你的銷售工具，它並不能保證你一定可以得到工作，但是能帶給你面試的機會。因此，你的履歷表必須引起雇主對你的興趣，想要再約你當面談一談。

範本解說

個人基本資料：最重要的是你的聯絡資料，最好把所有可以聯絡到你的方式都寫在上面。

應徵工作（job objective）：一定要寫清楚你希望應徵的是哪一個職務或是領域的工作，只需要一兩句就可以。

學歷背景（education）：對於剛畢業的新鮮人來說，由於工作經驗不多，學歷背景就成了很重要的參考資料，因此一定要放在履歷表的前面。最好能把重要的課程也列出來。如果你曾經在學校因為成績優異而得到獎學金或是獎項（academic honors），也可以特別列出來。

工作經驗（work experience）：儘管沒有正式的工作經驗，但是你可以列出暑期打工或是實習的經驗。記得寫清楚時間、公司名稱、簡短的工作內容。

課外活動 （extracurricular activities）：這一部份也很重要，你曾參加過哪些社團、組織或是參加過哪些大型活 與比賽等，都可以寫出來。最好能寫出你擔任的職務。企業主可以從這些課外活 看出你的人格特質或者是否具備某些能力（例如領導、溝通與協調的能力等）。

特殊技能：對於新鮮人來說，最重要的就是語言以及電腦應用能力，兩者也可以寫成一個欄位。
